Giving and Transparency Policy

Our Promise
Cold Streets was built on turning negatives into positives. This Policy explains exactly how the 8/8/8 Program works, what each 8% means, when money moves, and how we will show you what was given.
Cold Streets is a for-profit business operated by Tammy Dennis, an individual doing business as [Cold Streets Clothing Company]. We are not a charity.
The 8/8/8 Split
On every sale made through the Site, including products, Advertising, Sponsorships, and paid Pass the Love Cards, we direct:
- 8% to the referring affiliate, as a commission for referring the sale;
- 8% to the cause the buyer chooses at checkout; and
- 8% to hunger relief, through Cold Streets Food Insecurity Worldwide.
That is 24% of each qualifying sale. These amounts come from the sale and do not increase what you pay.
What the 8% Is Calculated On
Each 8% is calculated on [the item or service price after discounts, before shipping, taxes, and payment processing fees] , and does not include amounts refunded.
The Affiliate 8%
The affiliate share is a sales commission, not a charitable gift. It is paid to the affiliate whose link referred the sale, as described in the Affiliate Agreement.

The Buyer’s Cause 8%
At checkout, buyers choose a cause from the list available through the ShoppingGives app. Causes are independent organizations.
Their appearance on the list does not mean they endorse us, any product, or any advertiser, and we do not control how they use funds. Available causes are set by ShoppingGives and may change.
If a cause cannot accept a gift, or no longer exists, we will direct the amount to a similar cause or to our hunger-relief program.
If a buyer does not choose a cause, we will direct the amount to [our hunger-relief program / a cause of our choosing].
The Hunger Relief 8%
Cold Streets Food Insecurity Worldwide is our hunger-relief giving program.
[It is not a separate nonprofit organization.]
We direct these funds to [registered food-relief organizations or programs that provide food to people in need] .
When Money Moves
We direct giving amounts [every month / every quarter], after the 30-day exchange period for the related orders has ended, so refunded orders are not counted.
Affiliate commissions are paid on the schedule in the Affiliate Agreement.
Refunds and Exchanges
If an order is refunded, the giving amounts on the refunded part of the sale are reversed.
The affiliate commission, the buyer’s cause amount, and the hunger-relief amount are each reduced by the refunded amount. Exchanges do not change giving amounts.
Taxes
Purchases, Advertising, Sponsorships, and paid Pass the Love Cards are payments to Cold Streets for goods or services.
They are not charitable donations to Cold Streets or to any cause, and we do not provide tax advice or promise that any payment is tax-deductible.
You will not receive a donation receipt from Cold Streets for a purchase.
Pass the Love Cards, Fundraisers, and Sponsorships
The 8/8/8 split applies to paid purchases as described above. Free Pass the Love Cards do not involve a sale and do not generate giving amounts.
How fundraiser groups are paid is covered in the Fundraiser Agreement. Paid card and Sponsorship details are covered in their own terms.
Transparency Reporting
We will publish a giving summary [twice a year] on the Site showing the total giving amounts directed during the period to affiliates, causes, and hunger relief, along with the causes or organizations that received funds.
We will keep records of giving amounts and can provide confirmation of your own order’s giving amounts on request at support@coldstreets.com .
Our Honest Limits
We do our best to be accurate and timely, but timing may vary because of payment processors, platforms, and banking schedules.
Where the rules of a platform or the law require changes to how we give, we may update this Policy with a new “Last Updated” date. Changes apply to sales made after that date.
